Students got to experience why Native Americans traded and migrated due to things that they needed being scarce. What a successful day! Sunshine, great music, exercise and, best of all, students got to turn Dr. Weiss into a Root Beer Float since our school raised over $7,000!! Students have enjoyed two great assemblies so far this year. In the first, they learned about Thomas Alva Edison's amazing life! In the second, they learned the difference between 'telling' and 'reporting' incidents to adults. Students learned the value of team work through two team building activities this past week. First, in teams of 4, students had to build the tallest tower out of pasta noodles and marshmallows. The second activity required the kids to stand in a row on 'skis' made from tape so that their feet were 'taped' together. There job was to ski across the room! The students discovered how difficult both activities were, that they had to listen carefully to each other and that it's easier to work as a team to accomplish the task at hand.
